Professionally
I’m currently employed by Kenworth as a Senior Vehicle Controls Engineer, operating out of Kirkland, WA. Primarily, my focus is defining vehicle functionality that customers use on our trucks – from Accelerator Pedal Controls to Exterior Lighting to ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems, like Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist) and everything in between. Building upon my previous professional experience at Honda R&D and a startup company, Canoo, I also work on process improvements for our department. This includes implementing new procedures and tools via Lean Six Sigma and TDFSS, as well as previous professional experience.

Travel
I’ve taken every opportunity that’s been given to me for travel. Growing up, I had grandparents who full-time RV’d, which meant my brother and I would fly out to meet them every summer break until college and travel across the US for weeks at a time. I’ve spent at least a week in almost every state in the US, except 7 states.
When attending Virginia Tech, I took the opportunity to do an automotive study abroad in Germany for ~3 months. This allowed me to travel to 9 countries within one summer and experience a lot of cultures. Since then, I’ve been back to Germany many times and Munich is one of my favorite cities of all time.
Outdoors
From exploring the Midwest woods as a girl to snowboarding on the icy East coast and powdery PNW and everything in between, the outdoors are always calling.
Animals
All my life I’ve had pets, mostly cats and dogs. I used to want to be a vet, but mechanical engineering was definitely the right move.
My current pets are two cats, Rorschach and Tuna. Once life settles down a bit, my partner, Kevin, and I will get a dog.
Comics & Horror
I grew up as a nerdy tomboy who loved superheroes, Lord of the Rings, and all things related to Halloween. After going to my first yard sale as a kid and buying my first comic, my interest was peaked. My birthday being Halloween made it a perfect excuse to watch horror movies and to love the holiday.
